Bioelements Skin Care

I wanted to share a few of my tried and true skin care products. I know that facial products can be tricky as we all have different skin types. I have always had extremely oily skin up until a few years ago when I was prescribed a medication to help dry up my oil which in turn got rid of my acne. I now consider myself normal/dry skin. I had to completely switch up my entire skin care regime.
I have been using Bioelements for the last 5 years. I have always used their Decongestant Cleanser and their Mattifying Moisturizer. I no longer use these products as they are designed for oily/combination skin types. Here is my current routine...

To cleanse my skin I always begin by using a makeup wipe. I really like the Neutragena wipes.
After wiping my makeup off I then use one pump of my Bioelements Sensitive Skin Cleanser in the palm of my hand. I spread this oil based cleanser onto my dry skin and begin rubbing the product around in circular motions. Once it is spread evenly I will add warm water with my finger tips or use one of my facial sponges to work the product into a lather. Please note, this cleanser does not suds up and lather like most cleansers. The main ingredient is olive oil.
Rinse the product off with warm water.
I then blot my face dry.
Next, I spritz my Bioelements Equalizer approximately 6 inches from my face. I typically do 3 sprays to cover my entire face. This is a toner designed to balance your skin's pH and get it ready for serums and moisturizers. It contains soothing plant extracts and does not contain any alcohol.
While my face is damp with the toner I then immediately apply one pump of my Quick Refiner or Absolute Moisturize. I typically use the Quick Refiner 2-3 times a week.
On the nights I am not using the Quick Refiner I will apply my Absolute Moisture. I also use this under my makeup. It is lightweight and absorbs into the skin well.

Bioelements has a lot of products to choose from. You can check out the entire line HERE

Lifestyle: Mexico

I recently took a much needed vacation to Mexico. I think it is important for moms, and especially those who are flying solo in the parenting department to take time for themselves. I flew to Cancun and met up with my sister Kelly and our friend, Kendall. Apparently if your name didn't start with a K you were not invited.
Here is a little recap of my trip...

We stayed at the all inclusive resort Now Sapphire.

The view from our balcony.

We spent a lot of time in this pool, and the comfy cabana beds.

This cute swing bar was located on the beach. My drink of choice was Coronas or Skinny Margaritas, I definitely got my fill of both on this trip.

We took a taxi to downtown Playa Del Carmen. I loved the bustling streets and checking out all the colorful souvenirs.

The girls took advantage of my braiding skills on this trip!

We took a shuttle to Xcaret one day. It is a large park that offers snorkeling, underground rivers, and lots of animals. We swam through natural rivers that went into caves. Of course they left out the fact that these caves are full of bats that fly around your head. Yikes! It was such a great experience and I plan to take my kids next year.

I'm obsessed with sea turtles. Here is a baby sleeping. I love how they tuck their flippers and float on the water.

We spent a little time relaxing in the hammocks after our swim in the river

How amazing is this water?! It is so beautiful you forget how freezing cold it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Long Locks

On this particular client we added 4 inches of length and lots of fullness. The hair is custom colored and blends seamlessly with her own hair. I love the soft warm tones running through and the bright pops of blonde highlights.

Do you long for "Victoria Secret" hair, or the voluminous "long bobs" that are all over Pinterest but don't quite have enough hair? Hair extensions may be for you.

I take the time to sit down and answer any questions you may have about getting extensions. I go over maintenance and what products to be using to ensure your investment is protected. If you are interested in booking a consultation please text 314-614-8162 to set up an appointment.

Frayed Hem Denim

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I ended up working most of it and am sad to say I missed out on the beautiful weather St. Louis was having.  My boys go with their dad every other weekend, I usually fill my days with hair appointments and pack in as many clients as I can while they are away. Flag football and soccer is starting soon so I'll be working around their weekend game schedules. They didn't play any sports over summer so they are looking forward to being on the fields again.

A few weeks ago I was walking through the mall and saw that Hollister had "all jeans for $25" I can't say that I shopped in this store until that day. I ended up purchasing some black ripped jeans for work and a pair of frayed hem jeans.
I must say I'm not really impressed with the quality of the black jeans. I have worn and washed them a few times, and even though I air dry them they still look a little faded. They're fine for work, because in a few months they'll have so many bleach stains they will be going in the garbage.

Moving on from the negative...I absolutely love THESE frayed jeans I purchased. They have a nice stretch to them but hold their shape all day. The wash is lighter which gives it a casual look. I'm a sucker for the distressed look. (my dad always asks if I need money for new clothes when I wear ripped denim!) I paired these with some lace up sandals but these would also look cute with booties and an over sized sweater.

I'm loving sleeveless sweaters right now. Perfect for these in-between seasons. The one I am wearing is from the Limited HERE. (currently on sale)  I also purchased THIS one from Unhinged Boutique. I seriously get stopped and asked where I purchased this top all the time.

My druzy necklace is another piece from the Collections by Joys subscription box. So pretty, and such a wonderful company support.

Have a wonderful week ladies!

White Maxi

I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. I took off Saturday-Monday to spend with my kiddos and catch up on some house projects. Friday night my youngest went to a sleep-over so my older son Parker and I went out on a date. I love spending one on one time with my kids.
Labor Day my boys went with their dad and I headed to Lowes for paint. It is always hard to find the time to work on these projects so I jumped at the chance to check this off my to-do list. The color I chose is Silver Strand by Sherwin Williams. It is a soft blue/gray color. I can't wait to share pictures of the finished project.

I'm posting this white summer maxi dress after Labor Day, all though I never follow the 'no white' rule. I recently purchased this dress at Max Studio at the St. Louis Premium Outlets in Chesterfield Missouri. Max Studio is always my go-to store when I am shopping for dresses. I find that they are made well, always have flattering styles, and for me, they are typically long enough for my tall frame. I don't own many maxi dresses so when I saw this one I knew I had to purchase it. It is light and airy and has my favorite fringe detailing. I linked similar versions HERE and HERE.

I am still loving the laced shoe trend. I see it being carried into fall with all the lace up ballet flats. These black flats from Crave Boutique can be worn with dresses, shorts, and skirts.

My bracelet stack is from Collections by Joya. My sunglasses are from the Limited. I recently discovered that they carry inexpensive glasses that look like designer frames. The style I am wearing is sold out but THESE are very cute and on sale!
